National Environment Management Authority works with the following partners to execute it's duties
  • Ministry of Water and Environment.

  • This is the overall government organ responsiblefor the management of water and environment resources in Uganda.

  • Directorate of Water Development.

  • The departments in this directorate iclude; Rural Water and Sanitation Department, Urban Water and Sanitation Department, Water Resources Management Department,Water Sector Liaison Division Department and Water for Production Department

  • Directorate of Water Resources Management.

  • The departments in this directorate include; Depratment of Water Resources Regulation, Department of Water Quality Management, Department of Water Resources Monitoring and Assessment as well as Meteorology Department.

  • Directorate of Environment Affairs.

  • The departments in this directorate include: Environment Support Services Department, Forest Sector Support Department and Wetlands Management Department.

  • National Forest Authority.

  • This is a semi-autonomous agency mandated to manage central forest reserves in partnerships with local governments, forestry business and local communities to improve on protection conservation of biodiversity,increase investments in tree planting and harvesting, and provide benefits to local communities through collaborative forest management agreements.

  • National Water and Sewerage Corporation.

  • It is responsible for the provision of water supply and sewerage services in urban centres.
